PROJECT WILD WORLDS DEV UPDATE #1

It's been over three months since the announcement of Project Wild Worlds, and I am pleased to announce that progress is running along smoothly. I previously hoped to give a status update within one month of the announcement but other projects got in the way.

Nevertheless, I've been hard at work on making the best open-world survival game in Fortnite Creative. There's still a few features I'm waiting for but some smaller features are working smoothly.

YOUR ABILITIES

You, the hero of this tale, have a lot of abilities to work with when you enter this unfamiliar world. Besides running and jumping, you can also slide down hills or take out your glider to cross gaps.

Last month I've also been experimenting with Sprinting, Climbing and Door Bashing as you can see with the small course in the video below:

HUNGER METER

This game will feature a Hunger mechanic using an in-game timer that starts when you log in. It counts down and eventually alerts you that you are hungry, at which point you will need to eat to stop taking damage. Eating before this alert also restarts this timer.

For the purpose of showing off this feature, the video below features a visible countdown (which is set to just 20 seconds). In the final release, you will not be shown a countdown, which will be several minutes long, and will instead be alerted when you are one minute away from becoming hungry.

CRAFTING AND SUMMONING

The game will also feature a way to craft items using resources or summon Supply Drops or other cool abilities at Summon Stations. The video below shows the player using a rare resource to summon a Supply Drop (which for the purpose of testing contains the most common Bow weapon).

That's all I have to show off now. The next development update shouldn't take too long (theoretically), so look out for that in the coming weeks and months. Project Wild Worlds is still on schedule to release late 2022.
